Kintsukuroi

Just the other day, traversing through piles of online materials, I came across this new term -

Kintsukuroi

(n.) (v.phr.) "to repair with gold"; The art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.

To be frank, this word is a revelation on its own. Is this not true about our own lives?

Most people end up leading a life of make believe stories. We all dream of a perfect life with no scratches or breakages to fret over, but Perfection is a fleeting imagination. These nicks make us who we are. These are the marks of the testing times that leave us a winner, glowing with the wisdom and poise and making us a better person in the end. Of course, we become more beautiful for having been broken.
Our trials are so much a part of our history, why do we take the pain to keep it disguised?

Each time you stumble and fall, let the marks remind you that you rose up and started walking again.
Cherish your life the way you have been living it; not the way it is supposed to be.
