A free spirit, this blog is one of my many manifestations. There could be posts related to my life and people close to me, there will be a lot of figments of my imagination too!

Random Musings

Grumpie Seriousnote was on a rather somber mood, "What is happening to this world? Another hostage situation, another struggle to meet no ends, Sigh!! And they say it is holiday season, festive time..huh."

A New Beginning

Part 1: The North Wind
Part 2: The Tiger Eye
Part 3: Mystical Butterfly
This is Part 4 finale of the series.

The stars were contemplating to drowse off in the early Autumn sky. There was a cool morning breeze, and the breeze ushered in a Traveler back home. A girl stepped out of a car. She was fair, with streaks of dark brown hair. The old bells at the gate chimed softly.

An old man tucked in his bed, deep asleep, opened his eyes and looked towards the door through which faint light came into his room.
And there was a sparkle in his old green eyes, a soft smile flashing across his lips.

কেন, মা...

মা, এত রক্ত কেন?
এত অন্ধকার কেন?

নব জগতের নব আলো,
আমি দেখি না কেন?

The Onlooker of the Lights

As I stare out from the window
Of my closed dark room,
City lights sparkle.
Be in happiness or in gloom,
I sit every evening to witness this show.

Sunny side up!

As I walk from home to office, everyday during the cold winter mornings, I find myself walking on the sunny side of the road, along with a myriad of people – some street smart folks, some enjoying their morning drag, some health conscious beings jogging their way along the harbor and some professionals like me bustling their way to work – all on the sunny side of the road.

In Pursuit

This is my attempt at trying to capture the constant thirst for answers to the questions we often ask ourselves. Although, we are never sure if the answers we have is precise, the pursuit of our answers is a journey in itself.

A little girl once asked,
Who do I fear most?
For whom should I care?
What makes the sun so bright and the moon so fair?

Just the other day, traversing through piles of online materials, I came across this new term -

(n.) (v.phr.) "to repair with gold"; The art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.

Mystical Butterfly

Part 1: The North Wind
Part 2: The Tiger Eye
This is Part 3 of the series.

In the foothills of the great mountains, lay an ancient mystic land where peace prevails and tranquility rules, all beings, big or small, respected. Amidst the lush greenery, the pure waters and the sweet scent of the air, it is the place where one feels the presence of divine spirit within oneself.

Black Sheep

This is for all those who dare to stand out in a crowd. Be it in their personal life or the society we live in, they strive to do what is right and fight for their right.

“The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life have had on her; but the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes.” ~C. JoyBell C.

You bow down your head today,
Because you dared what others dreaded.
So that you may rise tomorrow,
Like a phoenix from the ashes.

Packing Pain

We always underestimate the number of shoes we own, until we start packing. Don't believe me? Start packing and see for yourself :-)

The Colors of Holi

Yes, it is Holi. Yes, it is the Indian Festival of Colors. No, I did not get splashed with colors this year (I usually don't, any year). And yes, I am going to write about the cliched topic of taking a moment to thank God for giving the gift of colors to our lives.

When Hunger Calls

A normal unsuspecting Weekday evening is the time when the zombie in me reels up its head, scraping for food along the alleys of my workplace.

To the Rain Clouds

Oh, the rain clouds yonder!
Carrying the water pot,
As you blissfully wander,
Where do you come from, where do you go?
I saw the clear blue sky, not so long ago.

It must be love, love, love!

Well it is Valentine's day and Love is in the air, or so to speak on the cloud as well via Facebook, Twitter and all other social media. Now this makes me think..Love is a simple combination of complex emotions. Love is universal. It comes in one size, fits all. Blessed are those who are loved, for they have the greatest riches of all. And even gratified are those who care to love, for they are beyond riches.
Love surrounds us in inexplicable ways..and there are so many times to which we can look back and exclaim, "It must be love!"

The Tiger Eye

Finally I could pen down a sequel of The North Wind. There is more to follow...

"Claire was a young girl who had more to her than what meets the eye. She had a spirit as free as a bird, curiosity tentamounting to nine lives of a cat and a insatiable thirst for knowledge. Even at a very young age she was well read. She had found her twin soul in her best friend, Irene. The two would often spend hours in the attic of the old house brewing up stories of unraveling perplexity.

Makeup Post: Vegas Night 2

This is the continuation of my makeup post. This post is about my makeup with the black dress..yes! my anniversary gift! Thank you VR! :-)
Since the dress itself was a nice black dress, I wanted that to be the center of attention and went in for a simple makeup.

Makeup Post: Vegas Night 1

After a very well enjoyed anniversary trip to Vegas and Grand Canyon, I am slowly getting over my holiday "Hangover".
But all questions asked to me these days lead back to my holidays. My fashionista besties were specially curious about my Vegas makeup and my friend +fiona furtado suggested that I blog about my makeup.

The North Wind

"It was a Winter evening, just as this" said the old man, as he shuffled on his Wing chair adjusting the thick house-coat, making himself comfortable at the porch. The children sat in a circle around him, with eager eyes, listening to his story with utmost interest.
